Wayne, IL - July 1, 2009 - Showplace Productions would like to give a big thank you to the very generous sponsors at this year's Showplace Spring Spectacular. The horse show, held at Lamplight Equestrian Center on June 2-14, was a great success. It could not have been done without the contributions and support of so many people.

Denise Wilson Tops Showplace Productions' THIS Leading Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Rider Standings
Wayne, IL - June 25, 2009 - Twenty-year-old Denise Wilson of Dousman, WI, is currently at the top of the standings for the $10,000 Taylor Harris Insurance Services, Inc. (THIS) Leading Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Rider bonus.  Wilson has won a total of $8,500 in the division so far this season, and she has her sights set on staying on top through the end of the competitive Showplace Leading Rider Series.

Showplace Spring Spectacular's USHJA International Hunter Derby Deemed Great Success
Wayne, IL - June 23, 2009 - The Showplace Spring Spectacular, recently held from June 2-14 at the Lamplight Equestrian Center, was a great success this year. One of the most popular events for exhibitors and spectators was the $15,000 Chronicle of the Horse/USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by Woodrun Farm. It was held on "Derby Day," Tuesday, June 9, along with a $5,000 Junior/Amateur Jumper Speed Derby.

Showplace Spring Spectacular II Wrap-Up, June 9-14, 2009
Wayne, IL - June 15, 2009 -  The Showplace Spring Spectacular wrapped up another year of fantastic competition on Sunday with five classes, totaling $100,000 in prize money awarded. The winner of the $50,000 Showplace Productions Grand Prix was 16-year-old Kelsey Thatcher of South Jordan, UT, on Carlotta. Denise Wilson and For Elenor won the $20,000 High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, while Frances Land and Cassia Catalina were tops in the $10,000 Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic. Madison Smith and Oloma were winners in the $10,000 NAL Children's Jumper Grand Prix, and Tiffany Hammack cruised to first place with Carrera Z in the $10,000 NAL Adult Jumper Grand Prix.

Kelsey Thatcher Awarded Overall High Point Junior Hunter Rider and Grand Hunter Championship

Madeline Thatcher Dominates in the Pony Hunters


Wayne, IL - June 14, 2009 - It was an exciting day for 16-year-old Kelsey Thatcher of South Jordan, UT, as the 2009 Showplace Spring Spectacular concluded its final day of competition.  Thatcher won the $50,000 Showplace Productions Grand Prix with her jumper Carlotta, was honored with the award for Overall High Point Junior Hunter Rider prior to that, and was also presented with the award for the Showplace Spring Spectacular's Grand Hunter Champion with her horse Gianni. Thatcher won all four Junior Hunter Classics over the two weeks of competition and earned several championships as well.

Caitie Hope and Alliy Moyer Earn Small Junior Hunter Championships at the Spring Spectacular
Wayne, IL - June 13, 2009 -It was a rainy morning at the Lamplight Equestrian Center today as the Junior Hunter divisions completed their championships at the Showplace Spring Spectacular II.  After two days of competition, Alliy Moyer and Caitie Hope each earned championship honors in their respective age group of the Small Junior Hunters.  Moyer was champion of the Small Junior Hunter 15 and Under with Barbados, and Hope rode Safari to the championship and Winter Place to the reserve championship in the Small Junior Hunter 16-17.

$50,000 Showplace Productions Grand Prix Rescheduled For Sunday Afternoon


Wayne, IL - June 13, 2009 - The Showplace Spring Spectacular is rounding out its final days at the Lamplight Equestrian Center, and there is a full schedule of jumper classes. Due to inclement weather, the $50,000 Showplace Productions Grand Prix, which was originally scheduled for today, has been moved to tomorrow, Sunday, June 14. It will follow the $10,000 NAL Children's Grand Prix and the $10,000 NAL Adult Grand Prix.
